Our Model JTF-1H as shown in the video below is a general purpose,
punch and jaw type end forming machine. It can produce many
different types of end forms in thin-walled copper, aluminum, and
steel tubing.
The JTF-1H has a capacity of 1 1/8” O.D. tube. Some end forms can be
produced with a single punch, some require the use of two punches,
and some can be done by simply closing the jaws on the part.
The machine has a selector switch for each of these settings. The
tooling can be changed from part to part very quickly, two to three
minutes to change tools and make the setup.
Tube Reduction - Tube end reduction is a
process that reduces the end of the tube to a specified internal
diameter (ID) or outside diameter (OD).
Typically, the end is reduced to a smaller OD to fit into a
component that requires a smaller diameter than the tube that is
being inserted.
Whereas a tube is reduced to a specified ID to enable a smaller tube
to fit inside the larger tube.
Tube Expanding – A tube end is expanded to a specified ID or
OD to enable the joining of two tubes together of the same or
different diameters.
Single Flare – Typically used to form a liquid tight,
airtight connection at the end of a tube, we accomplish a flared
tube end by ram forming which offers a long-lasting seal that
matches the exact shape
of matching fittings such as J.I.C. nuts and sleeves.
The single flare is available in both 37 degrees and 45 degrees and
meets MIL spec SAE specifications. We can build tooling to form
other angles as well.
Double Flare – A double lapping flare can be formed in the
same shapes and meets the same specifications as the Single Flare.
Tube Beading - Compression beads typically act by containing
another part within an area on the tube as the bead controls the
depth that a tube can be inserted into a hole leaving a larger,
stronger area to braze to.

The Model BCX-3 tube expander is used for making
expanded ends that will accept another tube of the
same beginning outside diameter. Two tubes of the
same O.D. can then be joined together to make a
coupling or braze joint. The process used is an
expanding segmented mandrel which is very safe and
fast.

as a standard machine, can be up-sized for larger
tubes
Pneumatically powered and controlled
Completely safe for the operator
Quick change tooling
Can be furnished as a single unit or can be
mounted in multiples with each unit dedicated for a
single tube size to eliminate setup time
Can be used for parts that are bent prior to
expand as well as straight tubes.
